Practical Camera Test

This test was culmination of all the work we had done so far in the camera workshops regarding camera, sound and lighting and the test went over the key points of each. We only had 15 minutes which ended up going very quickly and I only made a few small mistakes over the course of the three sections which was helpfully explained by Tom at the end of the test.

The first area I didn't understand was why the frame rate on the camera was very stuttery and I couldn't figure out how to change it. As it turns out, the shutter speed wasn't set to 1/50 and I was looking at the right dial but didn't realise there was a button I had to press before that but aside from that, everything else with the camera went very well.

In terms of sound and lighting, lighting went better as I was still insure with sound how to correctly alter the settings on the camera to stabilize the audio meaning the levels were slightly off but the overall setup went very well. Lighting was definitely the most successful part of the test despite the fact I was quite short on time by this point in the test. This part required us to set up the stand, attach the light to it, plug it in correctly and test the light. The final stage was to test the flood setting and then deconstruct the equipment so Tom could mess up the settings for the next person.

Despite the mistakes, the test was quite informative as to what areas could still use some work across all the parts and was good preparation for the tasks we have coming up next.
