Following finishing my degree in Television Production, moving on to a Master's degree became the best course to expand my skills in terms of directing alongside trying out new film styles. MA Directing Film & Television has already given me the chance to try out new and unfamiliar styles through both narrative and cinematography with the hope of continuing this over into my next project. The challenge I set myself in the first semester was to see if I could tell an impactful narrative primarily through the visuals with little to no dialogue alongside it. This is where my first-semester project - Fractured - was generated, both as a rework of an unmade film during my time at college and as the best way to experiment with different storytelling techniques.
This being the first location shoot I had worked in two years due to COVID meant there were some unique challenges but this became the best chance to re-familiarise myself with directing something different (having only directed in the studio prior to this film) and as a test by acting as both the actor and the director in the film.
